Bill Rabon
About
Bill Rabon attended NC State University and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1976, becoming Brunswick County's first large-animal veterinarian. He has also served as Vice Chair of the Brunswick County Community College Board of Trustees, past Chair of the NC Navigation Commission, and past Chair of the Brunswick County Board of Health. First elected to the NC Senate in November 2010 representing District 8, he is now in his eighth term (current term through January 1, 2027). Rabon chairs the powerful Senate Rules and Operations Committee — a key gatekeeper role — as well as the Finance Committee and the Select Committee on Nominations. He has championed major tax-reform legislation, coastal and marine-fisheries policy, navigation and port development, and conservative education policy including charter schools and vouchers.
