Charles W. "Charlie" Miller is a Southport native who spent more than 33 years in law enforcement, retiring as Chief Deputy of the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, and served 14 years on the Brunswick County Board of Education. First elected to the NC House in November 2020 and re-elected in 2022 and 2024 (current term through January 1, 2027), he represents District 19 (Brunswick and New Hanover) and serves on criminal-justice and public-safety committees. Miller has focused on law-enforcement and public-safety legislation, school-safety measures informed by his board service, Second Amendment legislation, and rural community priorities.
